The Etowah Youth Symphony Orchestra, featuring guest soloist Mark Wood of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Presented by the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the Alabama Orchestra Association and Gadsden Regional Medical Center. The nationally-recognized, award-winning Etowah Youth Symphony Orchestra performs with Mark Wood of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Wood performs as electric violin soloist on his work Viper Vs. Orchestra, which was commissioned by the EYO and was premiered by Wood and the EYSO in Gadsden in May of 2007 and at Carnegie Hall in June of 2007. Other works on the program include Wagner&39;s Rienzi Overture, the William Tell Overture by Rossini, the first two movements of EYO alumni Kristian Latta&39;s Symphony No. 2, and The X-Jet from Michael Kamen&39;s soundtrack from the motion picture The X-Men.
