MOVIE: Visions of Utopia. We will show the second half of this movie. We saw the first half in November. This is a great opportunity to get to know others looking for community and to familiarize yourself with various types of intentional communities. Following the movie, we will talk about the NW NJ Ecovillage group, which plans to grow within Sussex County, NJ. We will discuss the vision for the ecovillage, our history, what being a co-organizer of the project entails, and our plans for the near future. We had quite a turn out for part one of this movie viewing. Alot of great people, good food, and great conversations! ABOUT The Geoph Kozenzy documentary, Visions of Utopia. Geoph was an active member of both the Fellowship for Intentional Communities and the Federation of Egalitarian Communities. The film follows 18varying intentional communities throughout the world. Intentional communities, as the name suggests, are communities of people who have come together to live with a common vision.Today many of us are looking for ways to bring more communityinto our lives. This documentary showcases some extraordinary visions of 'ordinary' people and tells their stories of living and working together to build a better world. The documentary follows examples of cohousing communities, spiritual communities, communes, housing cooperatives, activist communities, and ecovillages.
