Workshop | January 9 | 4:30-6 p.m. | 344 Campbell Hall
Speaker/Performer: Leah Carroll, Haas Scholars Program
Sponsor: Robert & Colleen Haas Scholars Program, Office of Undergraduate Research
This workshop will cover the basics of writing a research proposal for students in all disciplines. Topics to be covered include:
defining your research question;
developing a project plan;
presenting your qualifications;
creating a budget.
You should attend this workshop if you are an undergraduate at UC Berkeley who is considering any or all of the following options:
writing a senior honors thesis;
applying for research funding from the Robert & Colleen Haas Scholars Program, a travel grant, or any other funding source/fellowship. Refer to Undergraduate Research Homepage for more information on these opportunities.
applying to graduate school for advanced study in an academic field, as you will probably be writing grant proposals in graduate school;
pursuing a career in research.
