Event details: Reflections: Guadalcanal Village wetlands (Northern CA)
Description
Sponsor: The Faculty Club
Color photographs showing both the results of tides, incoming and outgoing, and the effects of the water on plants at the water&39;s edge provide the theme for this exhibit.
Sally Mack has been photographing Guadalcanal Village wetlands, a restoration area on Mare Island for almost 10 years. A mitigation site owned by CalTrans, it is slated to become part of the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Since the area isn&39;t currently open to the public, Sally photographs there with the permission of CalTrans.
The photos were taken on film with an old Hasselblad film camera and printed through an enlarger.
