Ari Hest
New York City native Ari Hest started his career while still an undergraduate student at NYU and spent his early years building his fan base by touring colleges and clubs across the country. In 2004, having released 3 independent records and sold 20,000 cds on his own, Ari signed with Columbia Records and released Someone To Tell to great critical and fan acclaim. One Way Magazine may have said it best when it wrote, "his soulful baritone voice and soaring falsetto beautifully weave between infectious rhythms and hook-laden music." The Freight & Salvage Coffee House is an all-ages, non-smoking, alcohol-free performance venue located in Berkeley, California. Coffee, teas, sodas, desserts, and light snacks are available at the Freight food counter. Youth 18 years of age and under are admitted at half-price. Senior discount is $1.00. The Freight & Salvage Coffee House (Berkeley Society for the Preservation of Traditional Music) is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to promoting public awareness and understanding of traditional music. We are supported by your continuing attendance, grants (California Arts Council, Berkeley Civic Arts Program, Zellerbach Family Fund, W. A.
