ETM-Bay Area Young Associates Kick Off!

Come support Bay Area music education with a fabulous afternoon of drinks, food, prizes and live music right in the heart of Downtown Berkeley! ETM-Bay Areas (Education Through Music-Bay Area) Young Associates invite you to Becketts of Berkeley to join us as we kick off our first fundraiser in style. The Young Associates will be hosting an entertaining afternoon featuring food and drink specials, a raffle filled with terrific local prizes, and live music from the always funky Jolly Good Fellows! Proceeds will support ETM-Bay Areas mission to provide music instruction to at-risk Bay Area youth that improves students general development and academic success.

ETM-Bay Area believes that every child deserves a well-rounded education: one that includes music both as a subject in its own right and as a means of supporting learning in other areas. Since 2008, ETM-Bay Areas work has brought comprehensive music education to disadvantaged Bay Area youth that would not otherwise have this opportunity. ETM-Bay Area provides disadvantaged students with a chance to experience the joy, increased focus, and improved self-esteem that comes from having music as part of a well-rounded education. In the 2010-2011 school year, ETM-Bay Area will provide weekly music instruction to all 1,495 students enrolled at three partner schools.

ETM-Bay Areas Young Associates are a diverse group of young professionals who support ETM-Bay Areas work in the San Francisco Bay Area community. Our goal is to support ETM-Bay Area in its mission to restore music programs to the schools which need them most. Please join us for our first event, and help provide music education to disadvantaged youth at our partner schools and build a community that provides children with opportunities to have the well-rounded education that they deserve.
