Barbara Higbie
A longtime Windham Hill recording artist now recording for Slowbaby Records, Barbara is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and championship fiddle player as well as a pianist and composer. She is known for her work as co-founder of the acoustic super-group Montreux, for her two award winning solo vocal recordings, Signs of Life and I Surrender and her two duet releases with singer Teresa Trull, Unexpected and Playtime. In addition, Higbie has played on more than 45 albums, recently recording with Bonnie Raitt on Rosalee Sorrel’s tribute CD to Malvina Reynolds. The Freight & Salvage Coffee House is an all-ages, non-smoking, alcohol-free performance venue located in Berkeley, California. Coffee, teas, sodas, desserts, and light snacks are available at the Freight food counter. Youth 18 years of age and under are admitted at half-price. Senior discount is $1.00. The Freight & Salvage Coffee House (Berkeley Society for the Preservation of Traditional Music) is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to promoting public awareness and understanding of traditional music.
