Spend your school vacation at Habitat, exploring and learning about nature through the seasons. We offer programs for children grades K-3 for February March, and April school vacation weeks. Spend your school vacation at Habitat, exploring and learning about nature through the seasons. We offer programs for children grades K-3 for February March, and April school vacation weeks. Under the supervision of staff instructors, campers engage in environmental education activities, games, arts and crafts, and scientific experiments that focus on natural history. In February we offer 4 different days of nature exploration for children in grades K-3 (ages 5-9). Participants may sign up for one, two, three or all four days. Tuesday, February 21 -- Tremendous Trees Why do evergreens stay green Why do other trees appear dead Learn winter survival techniques of trees, taste maple sap and brew some white pine tea. Wednesday, February 22--Incredible Insects Its too cold out for insects, right Wrong Explore Habitat to find out which insects are still hanging around. Discover how insects survive the season in different stages. Thursday, February 23--Snow Science Whether there is snow on the ground or not, learn how snow is formed, what it is made of and how animals use it to their advantage. If there is no snow, well make our own Friday, February 24--Predator or Prey Are you as a clever as a fox or a swift as a rabbit Find out whos hunting or hiding here in winter.
