      Cost: $412.50

      BPI CEUs:  5

      Instructor:  Jon Martin

Background:  Weatherization Program Notice 11-6 has a new requirement for worker safety training.  All weatherization workers are required to take the OSHA 10 hour training, and all weatherization crew leaders are required to take the OSHA 30 hour training course. Crew leads do not need to take to OSHA 10 hour course. The Building Performance Center is accredited to deliver both of these trainings.  Both courses will be designed with Weatherization Programs in mind, and will focus on workplace safety as it relates to the typical work practices performed by weatherization workers.

Course contents will include the following OSHA requirements: 2 hours spent on “Introduction to OSHA”; 4 hours on OSHA “Focus Four Hazards (Falls, Electrocution, Struck-By and Caught-In or Between), 30 minutes on Personal Protective Equipment with a focus on respiratory safety, and 30 minutes on Health Hazards, with a focus on noise, hazard communication, and spray polyurethane foam. An additional 2 hours will be spent on Stairways and Ladders, Hand and Power Tools, and Confined Spaces. The last hour will include Fire Hazards and Motor vehicle Operations.  An additional 30 minutes will be spent on compliance Washington State’s Heat Stress rules.

After successful completion of the OSHA 10 course, the Building Performance Center will issue a course completion card.
