3000 184th Street SW Ste 952 >Alderwood Store Events > Event Description Alderwood Clinics and Events  Mercer Slough Service Project6/14/2008 9 00 AMPresented by REI and the City of Bellevue Join volunteers from all over the Puget Sound area for this massive planting effort at the site of the new Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center! Volunteers will be planting native vegetation on the site of the Education Center and in some of the environmentally sensitive design features including " bio-swales" designed to minimize runoff and manage storm water The Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center is a major asset to educators from around the Puget Sound area who bring their students to the Center for a hands-on science learning experience Currently under construction the remodeled Center will be able to accommodate 30 000 students each year!
