Description
Let's face it, when your kids are online they SEE, SAY and DO plenty of things they shouldn't. As a concerned parent in the age of MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube, education is your best discipline and strongest defense.

This free one hour seminar will introduce parents to the concept of social networking and its impact on pre-teenage and teenage students. A review of popular social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Bebo and YouTube will be covered. An overview of how kids participate and interact with other social networkers will be discussed as well as the dangerous truths that exist within these sites: Kids connect with people they shouldn’t, kids see things they shouldn’t and kids do things they shouldn’t. The seminar will conclude with practical advice on how parents can protect their children online.

MYSPACE FOR PARENTS – “What parents can do to keep children safe online in the age of social networking” will be conducted by technology consultant Brandon Pfeiffer. The seminar will be sponsored by Sycamore Room, Jay Wilson, CPA and Little America, LLC. Coffee will be provided by Starbucks.
Cost
Free.
