The Program Determining the best means to sell your product or service can be a challenge for a young organization. What are the pros and cons of direct selling vs. using third party companies such as resellers, retailers or strategic partners? Should you sell your product online or not? How do you know which option to use and when in the company's lifecycle? Get clarification about the different types of channels, and which make the most sense for your business. Understand the choices available to you, the trade offs of each option, and how to navigate the terrain so you come up with the right mix for growing your business. The Presenters Jill Hedrick is a global sales, marketing and business development executive who has worked with both early stage and established technology companies to build markets and teams. Ms. Hedrick has more than 15 years of international management experience, with overseas assignments in both Germany and the UK, and has traveled to all parts of the globe. Ms.Hedrick was VP of Business Development at start-up Revelation Inc., VP of Business Development at Gartner spin-off in global market research, Hansa|GCR, VP of Worldwide Sales at software developer Extensis, and held director level international sales and marketing roles at Dantz Development (now part of EMC) and Farallon (now part of Motorola). In these positions she was responsible for building new markets, building and managing teams, and defining and refining strategic direction. She is active in the Portland business community through involvement with the AeA, OEN, and the Oregon Tech Awards. Ms. Hedrick holds bachelor's degrees in both economics and sociology from the University of Colorado, and has completed the Business Administration for High Technology Leaders curriculum at OGI. Scott Olsen brings a combination of accomplishment and understanding of business matched with success in training individuals and groups. After completing his undergraduate work in Economics at the University of Washington, Scott has developed innovative training methods throughout his career that produce dramatic increases in productivity and customer satisfaction. With a combination of skills and knowledge, Scott successfully advances management, leadership, sales and interpersonal skills. He tailors each session to the particular needs of the group in which he is involved. In addition to training, Scott provides personal career development for individuals.
