Baytown Nature Center

The Baytown Nature Center consists of approximately 400 acres of hardwood uplands, high quality tidalmarsh and freshwater wetlands. This unique site is listed on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail. It provides habitat for 317 species of resident and neotropical migrant birds. The nature center is used for both educational and recreational purposes. Members of the public routinely use the area for picnics, fishing and birdwatching. The Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education and Recreation Center utilizes the nature center as an outdoor classroom for its Wetlands Ecology and Liquid Science programs. It is also the site for Tyke Hike, a pre-school environmental education program. Naturalist-led hikes and programs are also available. Admission fees: Adults - $3; Children 12 and under - free Annual Pass: Individual - $20; Family - $50 (includes 6 adults) Free - First Sunday of each month Open - 30 minutes before sunrise -- Close - 30 minutes after sunset -- Daily except Christmas Day
