How many more adaptations from the television show, video game, book, or remakes of movies that have already been made are we to endure? Where is our Star Wars? Our E.T? Our Goonies? Jessica Stover has one. She's written a screenplay about it. It's an epic fantasy. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a built in audience like The Lord of the Rings. But history has shown that a grassroots movement can help get a movie made. Look at Joss Whedon's Serenity, based on his failed television series Firefly.
We, the movie-going public need to demand more of Hollywood. We need to demand that they take a chance on original ideas so that we can end up with Star Wars instead of Wing Commander. We need to demand that they read and take a chance on Jessica Stover's script, and bring her movie, codename TSL to a city near us. We need to demand it. Because if we don't, who will?
DEMAND IT!!!
P.S: When TSL is eventually made (and it will be), the city with the most demands gets the premiere. Maybe.
