Named the ‘High Priestess of Soul,’ singer Nina Simone’s electrifying mix of jazz, classical, reggae and soul resound in hits like Four Women, Mississippi Goddam, and I Put a Spell on You. Playwright Rosiland Cauthen presents a night of music, dance, spoken word and media works by BMore & Dance, Wordslave, RaynFall Dance Company, Olu Butterfly, Dishibem Traditional Contemporary Dance Company, Bashi Rose and Griot’s Eye Youth Media Group honoring Simone’s legacy. In celebration of Black History Month, this performance is dedicated to all extraordinary Black artists who’ve contributed to the vastness of cultural expression as we know it today. Doors 7:30pm, Show 8pm.
