Venue details: Jazzway 6004 in Baltimore metro area
Description
Jazzway 6004 is a beautiful and unique house concert venue, specifically (but not exclusively) for jazz, modeled on "Jazz at the A-Frame" in Los Angeles, CA and "Parlor Jazz" in Brooklyn, New York. The house is mid-century modern, built in 1966 by a well known Baltimore bookmaker, and was host to many lavish parties, often with very high profile guests. Originally designed in the Hollywood Hills style, local folklore has it that both Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra were acquaintances of the owner, and attended parties at the house. The home was redesigned in 2006 in more of a Frank Lloyd Wright style, but with a nod toward its original Hollywood Hills heritage. The ground floor contains an entertainment area that is used as a performance space with seating for 45-50 people.
