Celebrate the inauguration of the 44th president of the United States by taking a look back at George Washington's big day and his legendary "wooden" teeth. The first president only had one tooth when he took office in 1789, and dental troubles kept him from giving an inaugural address the second time around. On Sunday, January 18, enjoy $1 admission and see George Washington's famous dentures in a gallery devoted to his tooth troubles. The museum will be decked out for the inauguration, and visitors can take a toothy presidential scavenger hunt to see one of four existing Washington dentures in the world (and none of them are made of wood!), iron forceps made to pull one of Washington's teeth on the Revolutionary War battlefield, examples of portraits that show the effect of his tooth loss during his presidency, and details about the president's favorite dentist John Greenwood.
