Event details: access/ABILITY
Description
âWe are delighted to offer the access/ABILITY exhibit,â said Bryn Parchman, CEO of Port Discovery. âIt is a wonderful complement to the Museumâs award-winning partnership with PACT: Helping Children with Special Needs and to our commitment to helping ALL children imagine, play, learn and grow.â
This unique exhibit presents people living with disabilities as full participants in the world and features fun and engaging activities that show the similarities and differences in how each of us with or without disabilities go places, communicate, have fun, and learn. Visitors will have a chance to learn phrases in American Sign Language, type their names in Braille, try a hand-pedaled bike and take part in a multi-sensory City Walk.
The access/ABILITY exhibit will be open through January 24, 2010.
This exhibition was created by the Boston Childrenâs Museum and was sponsored nationally by MetLife Foundation.
