Rally Obedience Class #5

Rally is a fun and exciting team sport for dogs and their handlers! Dog and Handler teams navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform such as Sit-Down, About Turn, Straight Figure 8, Spiral. Teams navigate the course at a brisk, continuous pace without direction from the judge. Handlers are encouraged to talk to their dogs during the performance. Scoring is not as rigorous as traditional obedience. For the class you should bring A hungry dog and soft treats Collar can be buckle or slip collars 6 foot leash Create or X-pen Vaccination records Water for you and your dog Poop bags This is a 6 week class from June 12th to July 24th, no class on July 3th due to the holiday weekend. There will be a make-up class on July 31st. The next AKC Rally trial is Bakersfield is October 11th and 12th To be eligible to compete in AKC Rally trials, a dog must be: http://www.akc.org/events/rally/getting_started.cfm · Registered with the AKC or listed with the AKC Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege (PAL/ILP) program, or a Foundation Stock Service (FSS) recorded breed that meets the eligibility requirements for competition. · 6 months of age or older.
