About Emo's in Austin
Description
Emo's Austin first opened its doors to the public in 1990, and is now widely considered to be one of, if not the city's best small venue for live music. With two stages, a beer garden, and all shows open to all ages unless stated otherwise, it's easy to see Emo's Austin's appeal.
Emo’s Austin got its start in the nightclub industry as a punk club. Since then, the venue has broadened its spectrum of featured genres, allowing it to welcome many of music's biggest names to its stage. Johnny Cash, Kings o Leon, Modest Mouse, De La Soul, New Found Glory and Copeland are just a few of those listed on the Emo's schedule in the past, with many more lined up for future shows.
The venue doesn't create any false illusions. With Emo's Austin, what you see is what you get. And the fans love it for that. At Emo's, the emphasis is on the music, and the "drunkenness and/ or debauchery" which may or may not go with it - depending on what kind of a night you're looking for!
