About RoT-1:

The RoT-1 Honeynet Project Chapter is the official Honeynet Project chapter for the state of Texas and surrounding areas. Our membership also includes a few "honorary" Texans, and is open by invitation to other honeynet researchers outside of our geographic region that may be interested in actively participating in our open projects. Our current membership includes Austin, Houston, and Dallas but most of our "all hands" meetings will take place in Austin.

As a chapter of The Honeynet Project our official mission is "to learn the tools, tactics and motives involved in computer and network attacks, and share the lessons learned." Our members have varied personal interests and projects including mobile/social malware, VOIP and IPv6 honeypots, protocol analysis and reimplimentation, malicious web content, and network enabled embedded systems security. As a chapter, we are open to new ideas or directions for research, so long as it pertains to the above mentioned mission. If you're interested in getting involved with this chapter, please contact the director, Ryan W Smith
( RyanWSmith@gmail.com ), for more information.
