Pioneers from the East: First Chinese Families in Austin at Austin History Center

The Austin History Center (AHC), a division of the Austin Public Library, in partnership with the Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce proudly present the photo exhibit, Pioneers from the East: First Chinese Families in Austin, on display from April 27 to October 17, 2010 in the Holt Reception Room at the AHC, 810 Guadalupe Street. This unique exhibit highlights the history of some of the first Chinese individuals and families who settled in Austin. All of the photographs are part of the Asian American archival collection at the Austin History Center. To commemorate the exhibit and to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, a reception will take place in the Holt Reception Room of the Austin History Center on Wednesday, May 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A short program and tour will begin at 6:30 p.m. The exhibit, reception and tour are free and open to the public.
