Back by popular demand, the author of bestseller Woodsburner returns to read from his book and provide advice to aspiring writers. John Pipkin is the former Executive Director of the Writers’ League of Texas, a non-profit and literary arts organization.
Woodsburner recounts the fire set to 300 acres of woods by the naturalist Henry David Thoreau. The book describes the effects of this fire on four main characters. Combining fiction with history, Woodsburner chronicles these changed lives with one final compelling character, the fire itself.

More about St. Edward's University
St. Edward's University
More than a century ago, just south of the Colorado River on a farm nestled in the Texas Hill Country, Father Edward Sorin of the Congregation of Holy Cross laid the foundation for St. Edward’s University.

The university’s legacy is inherited from the Congregation of Holy Cross, whose members defined the mission and committed the university to a values-based liberal arts education, preparation for careers and service to the community.
