Description
Dr. Karen E. Nelson, Director of Human Microbiology and Metagenomics at the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI), will be the keynote speaker at the 2009 W. M. Keck Symposium. Dr. Nelson has extensive experience in microbial ecology, genomics and metagenomics. While at JCVI, Dr. Nelson has led several genomic and metagenomic efforts and most recently has been involved in metagenomic studies of the human biome and metagenomic approaches to study the ecology of rumen and corals.
