Description
In 2010, the Hispanic World will commemorate not only Mexico's bicentennial but several others in Latin America. Dr. Roberto Breña is Professor of History of Ideas at the Center for International Studies at El Colegio de México in Mexico City. He is a specialist on the first quarter of the nineteenth-century in Spain and Latin America. Dr. Breña will discuss the "revoluciones Hispanicas" as part of a much larger historical process which involved not only Mexico, but many countries in Latin America and Spain as well. Dr. Breña is currently teaching at UT on the Latin American independence movements.
