Aurora Veterans Day Parade at Downtown Aurora, IL
The Veterans Day Parade, sponsored by Roosevelt-Aurora American Legion Post No.84, will step off at 1015 AM, Saturday, November 11th, 2009 at Benton and Water Streets. The parade route will proceed North on Broadway to Downer Place and west to the G.A.R. Memorial Hall. Included in this years parade will be the Marmion Academy Flannigan Rifles, East Aurora High School NJROTC, the Chicago Highland Rifles, Aurora Lamplighter Chorus and many Veterans Organizations.
The "Honoring All Who Served" ceremony at the G.A.R. Memorial Hall will begin at approximately 1030 AM and conclude with a military rifle salute by local veterans organizations at 1100 am. Aurora Idol Josh Jones will perform patriotic selections and Joseph Wiegand will speak as President Theodore Roosevelt.
