Journeys: From Here to There and Back Again

Opening Reception: Sunday, June 19 from 2 to 4 p.m.

In this exhibit, five well-established Southeastern artists come together to create a very unique show. Vickie Martin, Tina Jones Ciranni, Laura Parker, Lisa Stevens and Ruth Gogel present new works alongside some familiar pieces. Inspired by her surroundings, Martin's works are rendered in paint, found objects and sometimes salt to give them texture and depth. Ciranni is a mixed-media artist who combines acrylic, collage pieces, spray paint and an occasional found object to create a pattern. Parker's mixed-media works push the art of abstraction. Stevens creates with non-toxic materials so that her pieces stand the test of time while also utilizing materials that are locally sourced. Gogel is a local photographer who takes basic photos and manipulates them into something very abstract.
