(Egbe Sekere of Atlanta) How to MAKE A Sekere Workshop

Sunday, April 29,2012 2pm-7pm
$40 - Price includes a gourd you will pick from my personal stock.

Sekere (Shay-ka-ray) is an African hand drum made from a gourd strung with Beads, nuts, shells or seeds.
Today, Sekeres are played in bands, drum circles, parades, choirs, worship celebrations, live concerts and festivals all over the world.
Mama Yeye invites you to this exciting workshop experience by teaching you to create your own African hand drum and the proper warm up exercises, technique, styles and rhythms to perform your instrument like the professionals. She will also challenge you to play, move and sing while playing this wonderful percussive instrument. Dress comfortable.

How to Play A Sekere Class

FREE Tuesday,May 1st at 7:30PM

Free with registration of how to make workshop. Regular Classes will continue in May 2012
