Event details: Johnny Mercer Centennial Celebration Event
Description
Rarely does a day go by that you don't hear a Johnny Mercer song. Georgia-born and bred, Mercer penned the lyrics to countless tunes, including four Academy Award-winners. From "You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby" and "Jeepers Creepers" to "Hooray for Hollywood" and "Moon River," Mercer was the lyricist of an American century. Don't miss this celebration of his life's work featuring smoky-voiced special guest and Georgia native Lizz Wright, alongside vocalist and renowned trumpeter Joe Gransden with the Georgia State University Jazz Band.
This is a Rialto Series performance.
