Georgia Dome

With a seating capacity of over 75,000, Georgia Dome serves as one of Atlanta’s largest and most popular hot spots for upcoming sports and entertainment events. The Georgia Dome, also known as the Dome for short, is currently home to the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. Up until the team moved in 1999, the Georgia Dome was also home to the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks. The NCAA’s Georgia State’s Panthers are scheduled to move into the Dome in 2010. Georgia Dome Atlanta has served as a major hub for some of the nation’s leading teams.

Since it first opened its doors in 1992, the Georgia Dome schedule has been jam packed with nationally and internationally distinguished professional sports events like the Super Bowl (XXVIII & XXXIV) and the 1996 Olympics. Atlanta’s Georgia Dome also annually hosts three major football events including the Bank of America Atlanta Football classic, the SEC Football Championship and the Chick-fil-A Bowl. These annually hosted events have made the Georgia Dome a popular venue for many local die-hard football fans.
