Lecture: Way of the Ancient Healer

In this presentation, Virgil Mayor Apostol will provide an overview of Filipino healing practices, discussing their origins, world influences, and role in daily life. The healing traditions of the Philippines are numerous, and have their roots in shamanic or metaphysical practices. Apostol descends from both maternal and paternal bloodlines of healers, and has also spent years researching and refining his clinical practice. He has a background in martial arts which enhances his intuitive knowledge as a healer. Apostol has been associated with the Chopra Center for Well Being in La Jolla, CA, where he earned a favorable reputation in Ablon, a hands-on healing modality used primarily in northern Luzon, and Indian Ayurvedic therapies.
