Sustainable Now is pleased to announce the Green Radio Bistro, a weekly variety show featuring music, guest interviews and comedy segments. The program is being recorded and video taped live at various regional cafes - initially in Asheville, North Carolina at the Greenlife Cafe. The Green Radio Bistro will work to build broad public support for establishing western North Carolina as the nation's "Sustainability Capital." The Green Radio Bistro features live music as host, Ian Booth welcomes top musical guests from the widely touted WNC music scene. The show also features guest co-hosts like Ned Doyle, founder of the Southern Energy and Environment Expo (SEE Expo), interviewing regional innovators from the business, government, non-profit and grassroots communities about all facets of sustainable living. Together, a fascinating array of western North Carolinians share ideas and personal experiences that will pique everyone's interest in clean energy, alternative transportation, green building and much more. We'll also have an occasional visit from Wiltin Corn with "The Country News and Commentary" for some good old fashioned, down home humor... and country-fide wisdom. We'll be back from our production break on January 30, 2007 with a great show. Our musical guest will be one of western North Carolina's favorites, David LaMotte. UNCA Environmental Studies professor Dr. Dee Eggers will interview Terry Albrecht with Land of the Sky Regional Council about regional Green Businesses. She'll also talk with Steve McNabb and Greg Sedgwick of American Carolina about new paradigm manufacturing with energy conserving products. Wiltin Corn will stop by from Turkey Hop to talk with us for a spell, and Savannah Crespo will give us her weekly Kids Report. Stay tuned for information about other upcoming shows. As before, area residents are warmly invited to join us for the live tapings in the Greenlife Cafe on Merrimon Avenue. Showtime is 7:00, admission is free, and we'd suggest getting there a little early. Be sure to check this web page for regular updates. The pilot series of the Green Radio Bistro is now airing on URTV, Charter Cable channel 20 in Buncombe County, on Tuesdays at 9:00 PM and on radio on WPVM, 103.5 FM on Wednesdays at 1:00 PM. Please tune in and watch or listen as we work to build the Green Radio Bistro into a syndicated show for low-power, community and college radio stations nationwide, worldwide podcasting in audio and video and more. It's the right thing in the right place at the right time for the right reasons!
