Join Asheville Museum of Science and The Collider for July’s edition of Science Pub! We invite attendees to come in, grab a beverage courtesy of Oskar Blues, snack on some lite bites courtesy of Ingles Markets, and settle in for a night of interesting science!

Christi Whitworth of the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) will present: 2017 Carolina Total Eclipse. On August 21, 2017, western North Carolina residents will have the opportunity of a lifetime to experience totality during a solar eclipse at or near their home. Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute endeavors to educate public audiences about this upcoming event on the science of eclipses and how they happen, what to expect during an eclipse and especially totality and the safety measures and equipment you can use to observe this event safely.

Armed with this necessary information residents and visitors of Asheville are invited to partake in Asheville’s Solar Eclipse Festival hosted by Asheville Museum of Science. On August 21st, AMOS invites the public to Pack Square from 12pm-3pm for an afternoon of food, music, activities, and the eclipse! Proper solar eclipse eyewear will be distributed for safe eclipse viewing.
