Intro to Filmmaking is a detailed, hands-on introduction to the complete filmmaking process while producing a short digital film with High Definition (HD) cameras. Students will learn about the various aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production and will gain experience in different crew positions, all while making a quality 5-7 minute short film. This course will be open to ALL ages, but is ideal for those at least 16 years of age. The final film project will be premiered on a large screen at a local theater for friends and family, and students will receive a copy of the film for their portfolio.
Our beginner film class is held 6:30 – 9:30 pm, weekly for 8 weeks. Start dates include October 19th, 2016, January 5th, 2017, May 10th, 2017, July 13th, 2017, and November 8th, 2017. There will be a minimum of two shooting days, as well as two actor audition days (dates/times to be determined in class, dependent on actor, student, and location availability) that will be held outside of regular class. Students as a group will also be responsible for providing craft services for the actors on shooting days.
Cost for the course is $595 and includes all access to film cameras and equipment. A 20% deposit is required 2 weeks prior to the start date to guarantee placement. Contact us to discuss registration, class location, and for directions.
