HOBEY FORD’S GOLDEN ROD PUPPETS performs MIGRATION: A Puppet Play About Monarch Butterflies

      Presented by: West Asheville Library

Hobey Ford and his Golden Rod Puppets explore the wonders of migration through the story of a Mexican girl named Beatriz and her migration to the United States juxtaposed with the stories of other animals that migrate; Monarch Butterflies, polar bears, the Godwit bird and the Sperm Whale. To take the audience along the journey of these amazing creatures, realistic puppets perform behind a thin circular theatrical scrim onto which is projected Hobey’s original artwork. The puppets appear to be performing within the video projections. Hobey performs in full view in his role as storyteller and puppeteer creating a seamless and gorgeous production with a touching story of hope and change. The show will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Hobey and his puppets. Learn more about Hobey Ford here: http://loydartists.com/roster/f/c/32/
