Morro Castle 75th Anniversary Conference

The Asbury Park Historical Society- in association with Monmouth University in West Long Branch, the Monmouth County Department of Economic Development and Tourism, and other organizations and historic preservation groups- is preparing to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the famous S.S. Morro Castle disaster. Local and major media outlets are urged to please attend the press conference to help spread news about the proposed commemorative events. Artifacts, oral and printed histories, public and private participation, corporate sponsors, and volunteers are all needed. It is hoped the media can help get the word out about the upcoming events and help garner greater participation and access to information, memories and artifacts.
