Description
Lyell Gressitt is an adventurous vocalist with a warm and vibrant tone. Her superb phrasing can be attributed to a rhythmic freedom developed as a young child influenced by her father who was a fine swing drummer. Doug Clarke is an exciting and inventive guitarist. He studied for many years with the legendary guitarist Tal Farlow, from whom he gained keen insight into the melodic and harmonic complexities of bebop and traditional jazz. Together, Lyell and Doug present distinctive interpretations of great American and Brazilian jazz standards from composers Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Antonio Carlos Jobim and many others. Their unique sound is evocative and captivating.
