Happy Hour & Thanksgiving Food Drive (Arlington)

Plucker's GRAND OPENING was October 19th - come check out this new spot with us! It's a sports bar with wings, and a bunch of other yummy stuff too. Menu is online at www.Pluckers.com. On Thanksgiving day, November 26th, the Mission Arlington family will deliver turkeys, turkey baskets and hot meals to people in need. Last year, Mission Arlington volunteers delivered Thanksgiving meals to more than 22,000 people. Your help is needed to do this again this year! Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex needs 5,000 turkeys and lots of food to make Thanksgiving baskets to deliver on Thanksgiving day. Donate one item or a whole dinner. Every donation is appreciated! Items that do NOT require refrigeration are BEST. Canned Ham Canned Vegetables Canned Sweet Potatoes Canned Fruit Canned Pie Filling & Graham Cracker Crust Canned Cranberry Sauce Boxed Mashed Potatoes Canned Gravy or Gravy Mix Macaroni and Cheese Beans/Rice Dinner Rolls Tea Bags or Iced Tea Mix Families are hungry every day and additional donations are always appreciated. Cash donations will also be accepted to use toward the purchase of turkeys. Additional Volunteer Opportunities at Mission Arlington: BEFORE Thanksgiving Day: Volunteers are needed in the days and weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. Food needs to be sorted and boxed. Maps need to be matched with deliveries, and so much more. Everything needs to be ready by Thanksgiving morning. If you want to volunteer before Thanksgiving with a group, sign up for Sheri's Volunteer Day at Mission Arlington through Volunteer Love Meetup, 10-2 am on 11/21 once it's posted. ON Thanksgiving Day: TWO THOUSAND volunteers are needed at Mission Arlington from 8 AM through NOON and possibly beyond. Turkeys, turkey baskets, and hot meals need to be delivered to waiting families. No need to call. Just show up outside Mission Arlington's main office at 210 W. South Street.
