Engineering Lecture Series - J. W. Morris & Peter Searson at The University of Texas at Arlington
The Materials Science & Engineering Department hosts special presentations by Drs. Peter C. Searson, professor of materials science and engineering at Johns Hopkins University, and J.W. Morris, professor of metallurgy, materials science and mineral engineering at the University of California - Berkeley.
At 9:00am, Dr. Searson presents a technique for the electrochemically-programmed release of biomolecules and nanoparticles on patterned electrodes, bringing new insight into cell de-adhesion.
At 2:00pm, Dr. Morris will discuss a new class of structural materials, "Gum Metals," high-strength, superelastic bcc alloys.
