The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) is a not-for-profit professional society organized to promote research and training in the prevention, identification and treatment of complex trauma and dis sociative disorders. ISSTD provides professional and public educ ation about trauma and dissociative states and serves as a catalyst for international communication and cooperation among clinicians, researchers, educators and public policy makers working in the field. We are excited to invite you to the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociations 26th annual conference, to be held in Washington, DC on November 21-23, 2009, with pre-conference institutes held on November 19 and November 20. The theme of this years conference is Pathways to Integration Following Chronic Traumatization Mind, Body, and Relationships. This theme highlights ISSTDs special focus on (1) complex trauma, (2) the effects of complex trauma (i.e., myriad forms of fragmentation, including Complex PTSD and the Dissociative Disorders), and (3) integrative healing during the therapy.
