August 3 COMPASS ASSESSMENT 9:30AM

The COMPASS Assessment reviews your reading, math and writing skills. COMPASS is required of all new students who have not taken the ACT Exam. Exceptions are students with prior college experience, guest students, or non-degree seeking students. All nursing majors must take COMPASS.

Frequently asked questions.

What should I do before the assessment?

Complete an application for admission and pay the $20 application fee. Students who have not applied for admission will not be permitted to register for COMPASS.

What should I bring?

You must have your Northwest State student ID number.

Bring a calculator with you. Graphingcalculators are not permitted.

How long does it take?

COMPASS is not timed. Plan on about1.5 hours to complete the assessment.

When will I get my results?

Results print out immediately upon completion of the assessment. You will then meet with an academic advisor and register for classes.

Please report 15 minutes prior to the registration table located in the Atrium.
