Nine Big West mascots will duke it out for conference bragging rights Thursday, March 11, at ESPN Zone in the Downtown Disney District® as they compete in the eighth annual âMascot Mayhemâ pentathlon.
Mascots will participate, fully costumed, in five events: tug-o-war, hula hoop, basketball free-throw shooting, arm wrestling and race snowmobiles on Arctic Thunder to become the Big West Mascot Mayhem champ.
Taking on the 2009 reigning champion Scotty the Bear (UCR) will be Peter the Anteater (UCI), Musty the Mustang (Cal Poly SLO), PowerCat (Pacific), Tuffy the Titan (CSUF), Gunrock (UCD), Matty the Matador (CSUN), Ol© (UCSB) and Prospector Pete (CSULB). A few university bands will also be in attendance to compete in a âBattle of the Bandsâ outside the building.
The event at ESPN Zone is FREE and open to the public. Fans are invited to support by rallying alongside the schoolsâ cheerleading squads while they root for their favorite Big West mascot.
