Finbar Furey is one of the legends of Irish traditional music. Born into a traveling family that settled in Dublin, he and his three brothers formed The Fureys, which achieved international acclaim at a time when the resurgence of Irish music was in its infancy. Finbar Furey has just released a new CD, "No Farewells, No Goodbyes."
Brian Gaffney is a County Kerry-born performer who was, until recently, owner of Nanny O'Brien's Irish Pub in Washington, DC. He has now resumed his musical career.
This concert is a rare chance to see both these performers in this area.
