"..the songs Roh Delikat is churning out on record have been festering in the studio for so long gives that raw, confessional nature of lines like the modus operandi “Pushing every button, leaving nothing unsaid,” a gloss of carefully constructed posture that really defines the band. It’s like sitting in the balcony of an opera house using gilded binoculars to peek in on a box wine-fueled therapy session. Live, the trio-- rounded off with Nick Hubben on bass and Moog synthesizer-- plays with intimacy and attention to detail while still managing to follow Johnson’s lead on louder songs that rock out and have her stomping like, seriously, a grunger from Seattle circa 1991, and that is meant in the most righteous way possible. -matt parrish
