Getting Ready for Heritage Tourism – As easy as one, two, three! Day One

This is the first workshop of a three part series on Getting Ready for Heritage Tourism

Is your site visitor ready? Are you providing a quality experience that will ensure return visits and good word-of-mouth advertising? Tourism is NJ’s third largest industry, yet history and historic sites are still realizing a very small percentage of this return. This one-day workshop will acquaint the participant with New Jersey’s newly unveiled Heritage Tourism Master Plan and explore how historic sites and tourism providers can benefit by its implementation. This program is designed to benefit historic site managers, staff and volunteers and will also be relevant to board members and tourism providers. Using Historic Walnford as a laboratory, participants will gain invaluable assessment tools and techniques to critically evaluate how visitors may perceive a historic site on their initial contact. Learn about key financial resources that can assist you in becoming visitor ready.  The workshop will be led by Dorothy P. Guzzo, Executive Director, NJ Historic Trust.
