Start point is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. You may participate in this event from dawn to dusk. Call ahead to check hours on major holidays. Ask at the counter for the "Walk Box" from beneath the counter or from the manager's office. Trail is rated 1. The bike trail is mostly on the Mount Vernon Trail, a hiker/biker trail that parallels the Potomac River and the George Washington Memorial Parkway between George Washington's Mount Vernon and historic Old Town Alexandria.
