Spring for Alexandria - Day of Service

The Day of Service will enable volunteers to contribute valuable services to the City of Alexandria while at the same time supporting Volunteer Alexandria. Teams of volunteers made up of individuals, businesses, associations and city employees will spend the day providing hands-on services to nonprofits and city locations throughout Alexandria. Volunteer Alexandria will match teams to project sites. Participants will collect pledges for their hours worked (just like a walkathon). The proceeds will go to Volunteer Alexandria whose mission is
To build a better community by inspiring and mobilizing people to volunteer.
In an unprecedented show of support, Mayor William D. Euille has granted all non-essential city officials paid leave that day to volunteer. Each project site will have a Site Contact who is in charge of the work that is being done at their site. Each team will have a Team Leader who is the direct contact for Volunteer Alexandria.
