Description
The Democratic Black Caucus of Virginia (DBCV) is proud to announce a grassroots celebration of this historic 2008 election by hosting the 44/44 GRASSROOTS PRE-INAUGURAL BALL. We are happy and proud to be joined by The Virginia Association of Democratic Chairs (VADC) as hosts. Together we invite you to join us for food, music and dancing under the stars on January 17, 2009 at 6:30 PM.
We believe that those who worked to elect Barack Obama the 44th President and to Turn Virgina blue for the first time in 44 years, deserve to be part of the inaugural celebration. So we have joined to bring a lower cost formal event that still has all the pomp and circumstance with pulsating, live music from ICE, delicious four course Dinner and lots of elected officials.
Daphne Maxwell-Reid and Tim Reid will serve as Masters of Ceremony for the Ball. We will celebrate in the elegant Arlington Grand Ballroom of the Crystal Gateway Marriott at 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22202.
It was the strength, hard work and determination of Virginia’s Democrats, joined by Republicans and Independents that brought us to this place. All who volunteered around the state, contributed, talked to your neighbor or just put up a yard sign and voted are welcome.
Formal Attire Required.
Four Course Dinner Buffet * Live Music * Dancing * Cash Bar
