Sept. 15---"Hell Screen," a short story by Ryunosuke Akutagawa, from Rashomon and Seventeen Other Stories.

Oct. 20---"The Children of Light and the Children of Darkness" by Reinhold Niebhur, from The Children of Light and the Children of Darkness.

Nov. 17---"Why Write?" by Jean-Paul Sartre, from "What is Literature?" and Other Essays.

Dec. 15---"Bright and Morning Star," by Richard Wright, a short story from Uncle Tom's Children.

Jan. 19----"Human Personality," by Simon Weil from Selected Essays, 1934-1943.


All readings have been selected by the Great Books Foundation of Chicago, Ill., and appear in the new anthology, Great Conversations V, with study guides. Purchase of Great Conversations V is not required but it is a convenience for regular participants. It can be purchased from the Foundation for $24.95 plus handling charges of $4.50.
