GREAT BOOKS DISCUSSION GROUP

The discussions are held in the Meeting Room of the Charles E. Beatley Library, 5005 Duke St., Alexandria, VA, on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. Enter the library and immediately turn right. You will see the Meeting Room right ahead of you. Nov. 17---"Why Write?" by Jean-Paul Sartre, from "What is Literature?" and Other Essays.

Dec. 15---"Bright and Morning Star," by Richard Wright, a short story from Uncle Tom's Children.

Jan. 19----"Human Personality," by Simon Weil from Selected Essays, 1934-1943.


All readings have been selected by the Great Books Foundation of Chicago, Ill., and appear in the new anthology, Great Conversations V, with study guides.
