Become a junior paleontologist and time travel through New Mexico's geologic time periods. Discover how paleontologists use detective skills and trek through Triassic and Jurassic forests, cross Cretaceous seas, and traverse Tertiary grasslands in search of answers. Activities include art projects, games, stories, investigating real specimens from the Museum's collections, and visits to the Museum's exhibits. Classes are limited to 15 children and are taught by two adult instructors and one aide.(Entering 1st and 2nd Grade in 2012-2013 School Year) This program is also offered: July 16-20, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm; July 16-20, 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm; and July 23-27, 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm, look for a separate Brown Paper Ticket listing. Scholarships are available for children who qualify and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. For additional questions please do call 505 841-2861. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science reserves the right to cancel any event that does not reach a minimum of 6 participants.
